Our top 5 tips to make the most of it this Christmas!
It seems like this is the longest November in the history of Novembers. The entire country is anxiously waiting for restrictions to be lifted to see if we can plan some kind of festive celebration this year. Some people have started putting up their Christmas trees, planning their Christmas Jumpers and even anxiously awaiting this years John Lewis advert!
Our numbers are going in the right direction but we all need to keep safe so we can make sure that we do get to see our loved ones at Christmas. So we have put together 5 ways you can enjoy Christmas this year and still remain safe!
1. Support local.
2020 has been a really tough year for everyone so make sure to spend local and support your local businesses this year. A lot of shops are doing click and collect so you don’t have to worry about getting the all important pressies!
2. Buy local vouchers
The hospitality industry has been hit badly this year. Which means lots of job losses and closing of doors. Try to add a few local vouchers onto your shopping list. A voucher for a local restaurant, café, hotel or activity centre will always be appreciated by your loved ones. You can find lots of ideas for vouchers on the Newgrange Hotel website here.
3. Send Cards
If you didn’t send cards before this then start! There are lots of people who have been stuck at home this year and receiving a card in the post lets them know that you are thinking of them. Your local newsagent will have charity card boxes so you can support a good cause and make someones day by posting a Christmas Card!
4. Take a trip
Not a lot of us got to take a foreign holiday this year but why not take a winter vacation? A perfect way to catch up with family but in the surrounds of a lovely hotel! Black Friday deals have just started so why not plan a pre or post Christmas catch up. Check out the Newgrange Hotels Black Friday sale here.
5. Send a Christmas care package
This is another great way to cheer someone up at what can be a very lonely time of year. It doesn’t have to be a long distance care package. You could send one to your family in Galway or Donegal! Lovely ideas of what to include could be some festive hats, chocolate, a voucher maybe for afternoon tea when they come to visit you? A lovely way to say I miss you and I am thinking of you.
