Last Wednesday the 22nd of August the finalists were announced for the Hotel and Catering review Gold Medal awards. Now in their 30th year the awards are recognised as the leading independent awards programme for the hospitality industry. The awards feature 13 categories for the hotel industry alone and the Newgrange Hotel in Navan has been awarded a place in the final.
As we all know the Newgrange Hotel is celebrating 20 years of business in Navan this year and the accolade of being one of the best three stars in Ireland would be very fitting on this special occasion.
The Newgrange will have some healthy competition on the night of the awards ceremony with the likes of the Celtic Ross Hotel in Cork, The Kenmare Bay Hotel in Kerry and their very own sister hotel- The Ardboyne, also making the final. Another sister Hotel- The Knightsbrook Hotel in Trim are also in the final for best Four star resort.
Jim Carlton was on hand to share his excitement “We are over the moon to have made it to the final in the Gold medal awards for best three star hotel. It makes all the hard work that the staff and management do on a daily basis worthwhile. It would be fantastic to bring home first place to County Meath and the Boyne Valley.”
As well as being a finalist for the Best Three star hotel, you also have a chance to vote for the Newgrange Hotel in the people’s choice award. This award is sponsored by the Irish Independent and the public will decide on their favourite place to stay in Ulster, Connaught, Leinster and Munster. The overall winner will be announced on the night. To vote just click here.
Best of luck to the Newgrange, Ardboyne and Knightsbrook Hotel at the awards in September.
