One exciting event that is coming up in the near future is the Trim Vintage Car Rally, taking place on 17 July 2011 at Porchfields. The event has been running since 1985 and was started in a small yard in Loman Street, Trim, with just 23 cars.
As the event grew in popularity, the founder Norman Pratt was forced to find bigger venues and in 2011 he approached the Roundtree family about using Porchfields on the day.
The show now boasts over 450 cars and motorcycles for you to view and has become a popular day out for the entire family, with a number of shows on the side for everyone to enjoy. Popular attractions include the presidential Rolls Royce and the Slieve le Mon Armoured Car which comes from the Civil war.
If you need any more of a reason to attend, then just know that you will also be contributing to funds raised for local charities.
Some of the attractions scheduled for this year include the Aer Corp flyover, fun fair, dog show, line dancing, junior football blitz and food stalls. World record hot air balloonist Pauline Baker will also be in attendance.
